Fenny to Willen

Good cruise today, though difficult to find a mooring. Water level is very low, so everyone is on the deeper moorings, and there are not many of them. The bridge holes were very silted, and the boat struggled with getting through some of them. Canal and River Trust are definitely running the system down to "beyond reasonable financial repair"

Stoke Hammond to Fenny

Just a shortish cruise today. Fenny Stratford for water and supplies. Probably move on again tomorrow.

Weather was ok, a bit cloudy but not overly cold. The leaves are on the canal now, so having to hit neutral every five mins to clear the prop.

Down through “3 locks” today, with help from a vollylockie, which was appreciated. Filled with water and moored above Stoke Hammond lock for the night. Caught Nick and Mary on the fuel boat, topped up with a few bags of coal.

Another move today, this time to just above Three Locks. Beautiful weather but cold.

Lots of saplings growing from the bank, which Damien Kemp assured us would be removed in one of his boaters updates. Well over thirty between Leighton Buzzard and Three Locks. Odd that a navigation authority seems to hate boats so much.

Obviously more untruths that seem to be the norm for Canal and River Trust these days. They need an honesty policy.

Moved today. Onto the shopping mooring at Leighton, stop overnight then move on again in the morning. Blowing a gale, hope it calms a bit by tomorrow.

Tuesday, 12 October 2021

Moved North to Leighton Buzzard and will stay here for a week. Several things to sort out and it's handy here.

Friday, 8 October 2021

Onwards to Slapton today, needed water. Will probably wind here, moor up for a few days then head back North. Don’t fancy wintering down South, too bloody muddy and congested.

Blowing a hooley, so not moved yet. Sat here watching the wildlife go about its business. Supposed to calm down a bit tomorrow.

Friday, 1 October 2021

Moved to just below the lock at The Grove Leighton Buzzard for a few days. A tad windy, so no point buggering about. Trains are a bit noisy but other than that a nice mooring.
