Cruise down to Cosgrove for water and shopping. Staying for a couple of days possibly.

The bridge in the pictures below is probably the most photographed on the GU canal.

A bit gloomy today with threatening sky, and still windy. Other than that, a nice peaceful mooring.

Needed coal and diesel, so set off from Cosgrove this morning headed for Baxters boatyard.
Very windy, and stopped to top up water en-route.
5 bags of excel and filled up with diesel. £14-75 per bag of excel! Will not be buying coal there again.
No spaces to moor opposite, so cruised to Grafton Regis and moored.

Cruised down to the water point to fill up, bloody windy.

Was going to head for Baxter’s at Grafton for some coal and diesel, but the heavens opened so returned to the same mooring.

A walk along the canal at Cosgrove today, still on lockdown.

Slowly but surely going potty sat on the same spot.

Still frozen in, and not going anywhere. Bitterly cold and the water tanks getting low 😮

Hope the incoming higher temperatures melts the ice sharpish.

Still stuck in lockdown at Cosgrove. Decent sunshine today though, but supposed to be -10 tonight locally.
At least the birds are getting well fed 😊

Set off to get water this morning, nice day for it and only a short 2-mile cruise there and back.

Bit of a pain winding below Cosgrove lock, the overflow outlet from the canal above makes it difficult to spin the boat around, but even more annoying is the lack of depth which further complicates the manoeuvre. It really needs dredging.

Came across some wayward tree trunk, so grabbed it, chopped up and ready for the fire and the beast from the east over the weekend.

Fenny Stratford to Cosgrove

 December 2020 Lockdown.

Moved from Fenny Stratford just before lockdown. Ended up in Cosgrove due to lack of mooring space. Where there were gaps, it was to shallow to get near the bank.
